This project provides direct financial relief to 12 grandparents and elderly caretakers in Dorchester who are raising grandchildren. Each recipient would receive $1,000 for two months to help with the cost of living. Grandparents and elderly people struggle with rising costs while also serving as full-time caretakers without receiving additional income for that role.
This support recognizes the invisible labor of grandparents who step up for their families and eases some of the financial pressure they carry. Recipients would be selected through a simple application process verifying their caretaker status and Dorchester residency.
