This proposal meets the criteria and will move on to the community vote in March.

✅ Public benefit in Dorchester and nonpartisan.

✅ Fits the budget ($5k) and is doable in ~2 months (by May 31, 2026)

✅ We can pay for it via one of our channels (vendor contract, subgrant, stipends/microgrants, goods distribution, direct assistance).

✅ Permission in hand for any space you don’t control or pivot to a portable/off-site version.

While there are still some things to figure out (how to disperse funds), this small detail can be figured out after the vote.

Travel Fund Lottery

Accepted

Residents could enter for a chance to get $2,000 that would only go towards traveling and vacationing.

People are stressed out, overworked, and take the role of caretakers for others, usually leaving self care the last thing list that never happens. Foreign travel can feel like a dream but it shouldn't have to just be a dream or something only available to a few people.
