What makes a proposal ready

  • Public benefit in Dorchester and nonpartisan.

  • Fits the budget ($25k) and is doable in ~2 months (April 1st - May 31, 2026)

  • We can pay for it via one of our channels (vendor contract, subgrant, stipends/microgrants, goods distribution, direct assistance).

  • Permission in hand for any space you don’t control or pivot to a portable/off-site version.

What gets funded (for example)

  • Fix or build shared spaces: room upgrades, furniture, murals.

  • Learn about what we care about: mental health workshops, tutoring, college readiness.

  • Feel safe and supported: healing circles, wellness kits, prevention education.

  • Celebrate culture: performances, heritage events, storytelling projects.

  • Access & support: translation, transit stipends, tech access, menstrual products.

  • Build our power: youth organizer stipends, leadership training, civic workshops.
